Who We Are

The Humble Cake Company found its roots in creating cakes for family and friends, especially for children, back in 2014. It was a family run affair – a mum and her two daughters – and as a small, informal business with no culinary or pastry school training, it was important to not lose where we came from as we got better at our craft.

So we decided to call ourselves the ‘humble bakers’ and so The Humble Cake Company was born. Over time, our cake knowledge and expertise grew and now, although there’s only one baker behind the scenes, Humble Cakes fulfils all kinds of cake requests, from character cakes to six tier wedding cakes.

Our mission is to create unique, custom made cakes, cupcakes and wedding cakes for inventive clientele, where we focus on making their ideas memorable and most importantly, edible!  We are confident that our cakes will please you and your guests in a variety of ways.

Frequently Asked questions

  • In general, the cost of a bespoke cake is determined by how many people your cake should feed and the design. Depending on these answers, the time taken to make the cake is taken into consideration and this makes up your final quote. Get in touch to enquire about a custom cake quote for you.

  • We specialise in celebration cakes – this could be birthday cakes, anniversary cakes, baby shower cakes, bridal shower cakes, even wedding cakes. If you have something to celebrate, we have a cake for it!

    Our cakes are primarily decorated with buttercream frosting although fondant covered cakes can be requested too. We also take cupcake and treat box orders.

  • When ordering your bespoke cake or treats, we need at least two weeks’ notice from the point of booking your order to your chosen date. Last minute orders are possible, but they are subject to availability and there will be late fee charges included, such as next day delivery service for materials, if needed.

  • We make cupcakes by the dozen (12, 24, 36, etc) but can do bulk orders up to 100 cupcakes. There is a bulk discount for cupcake orders over 50.

  • Yes, we do. Whether you need cupcakes personalised with your company logo or would like a cake to celebrate your company’s anniversary, make an enquiry here and we can advise on what can be done for you.

  • Simply fill in our enquiry form here or find us on Instagram @HumbleCakeCo and send us a DM. Your message will be answered within 24-48 hours so you have all the information you need to start planning your celebration!

  • Currently, we only cater for egg and dairy (milk) allergies. Only our vanilla and chocolate cakes can be made eggless, dairy free and/or vegan. Whilst we do not guarantee a nut-free kitchen, all of our bakes are naturally nut free unless specified (e.g. pistachio cake). We currently do not cater for gluten-free.

    Our kitchen handles ingredients with the following allergens (although not included in every cake flavour):

    Eggs, Gluten, Dairy (milk, butter, yoghurt), Nuts (almonds), Peanuts, Soya

    Our cakes are suitable for halal customers but please state this on booking as vanilla extract contains ethanol. This can be replaced for a halal alternative. Our cakes are also suitable for vegetarians.

  • Yes! If you’re having a large celebration or you’re looking for a dessert table for an event, consider booking a cake package. This would include a cake and cupcakes in complimentary colours to make a striking impact for your event.
